"Spirit of Ecstasy"
 
It was just after first light in August 2026 at Tasman Lake in Mt Cook Aoraki national park.
 
After a little walk at below freezing I approached the lake and this little shaft of ice caught my eye. Waiting for the sun to hit the mountains and to capture the back of Mt Cook was a very special experience.
 
Shortly after this shot a couple arrived at 8.am to get wedding photos taken!
